Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is an extracurricular, audition only musical ensemble. We perform a mix of jazz, rock, and funk at two concerts every year, using the standard Big Band instrumentation including all saxophones, trombone, trumpet, guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Our rehearsals occur on Wednesday nights from 6pm-8pm after an audition in November. All audition materials will be provided.

In weekly rehearsals we emphasize developing individual and group style, we explore improvisation, and we expand our jazz education by learning about famous artists and listening to jazz standards. The Jazz Band director is Mr. Kyle Gelatka, kgelatka@wmrhsd.org,  X3746.
